Well, today I'm going talk to a few different women about getting abs as a New Year's resolution... Let's see what happens when I take some of their tips and build up my six pack abs! Since it is a new year, a lot of you guys out there mya have made some kind of New Year's resolution to get in shape - lose belly fat, get a six pack, build muscle, etc. I have one question for all of you: Why? Yeah, you can get a six pack and look shredded, but what is the reason behind it? Maybe it's to get the attention of that certain somebody? Or maybe it's to improve your confidence? Either way, making the goal to get a six pack all starts with why it's most important to you. If you're like me in the video, I needed tips on how to build up my six pack abs. I took some advice from these girls I spoke with and they said to do: -Sit-ups -Jumping jacks -Planks -Burpees -Run a marathon I didn't even know how many to do to get my abs...Most guys don't either. Men out there think that these same exercises and methods are how to get six pack abs, but really, there's much more to it. I made deals with these women that if I got six pack abs by the end of the year, they would give me their numbers... I would've had to lay there doing like 1,000,000 sit-ups before I could get that girls number! So my final question is: do YOU want to do that? Didn't think so. I built my six pack and got some attractive women's numbers today. So... what's stopping you? Thanks for watching everyone. Complete the following circuit with a medium dumbbell. For most, this would be a dumbbell between 8-20 lbs. 1. Side Standing Crunch (DB in right hand) & (left) knee tucks x 10 Reps 2. Side Standing Crunch Pulse x 10 Reps 3. Knee Tuck to Right & Left Elbow x 10 Reps 4. Side Plank Dips (on left elbow) x 10 Reps 5. Knee to Elbow Crunch (Right Elbow to Right Knee) x 10 Reps 6. Bicycle Crunches x 10 Reps (right & left side equals 1 rep) Repeat from the top and hit the other side! Need more? Try to do 2 sets on each side (complete circuit 4 times alternating right and left side). You want to move quickly from exercise to exercises without taking breaks in-between. The good news is that we’ve put together a set of exercises for your abs and waist that you can do without getting up from your chair. Remember warming-up is an extremely important part of any workout. Continue with oblique twists. Thanks to them, you’ll be kissing that muffin top goodbye and saying hello to a slimmer waist and stronger abs. Forward bends develop a muscle called the Rectus Abdominis, which is the long flat muscle that helps flex the spinal column. When trained properly, it’ll give you a perfectly flat and toned tummy. Knees to the chest give a nice workout to your thigh muscles and the Rectus Abdominis muscle. Leg raises are great at getting rid of that annoying lower belly pooch we’d all love to send packing. As you strengthen your abs, doing knee circles will get easier with time. Losing weight requires not only physical training but also a healthy diet. Try to keep count of how many calories you consume according to the number recommended for your age, gender, and lifestyle. Your diet must be well-balanced. Half of your daily calorie consumption should come from carbs, 30% from proteins, and 20% from fats. Foods containing Omega-9 fatty acids will make you feel fuller longer, so you won’t overeat. In this video, I’m going to show you a single ab workout routine that you can do for the next 22 days straight that is going to help to carve up that midsection of yours and give you a jump start on getting your abs to pop year round. There are just 6 exercises in this ab workout, each one hitting the abs from one of their primary functions. No equipment is required to perform this ab workout routine. Because of this fact, there are no excuses either. You will be able to do this workout for your abs in just minutes and you won’t need any elaborate setup to get it done. It can be done in the comfort of your own home or in the gym if you so choose. The key to this ab workout plan is that you perform it for 22 days straight. There are two reasons for this time period. First, it gives you an opportunity to start seeing noticeable changes in your abs particularly if you pair this with a dedicated effort to improve your nutrition. You will never be able to see your abs if they are covered in fat. You need to start getting serious about your diet and eating if you want to strip away the fat and show the results of your hard work and effort. The second reason for doing this for 22 days is to help this become part of your lifestyle. They say it takes 22 days of doing something for it to become a habit. We are going to try and create a positive habit here by getting you used to training your abs. Don’t worry. The abs are a resilient postural muscle group that is built for high volume and frequent training sessions. The exercises in this ab workout follow a specific sequence. They start with those that target the lower abs using bottom up movements. These are where the top of the body from the waist up stays rather stationary while the bottom does the movement. This can be seen in the heels to the heavens exercise. Next you perform a bottom up rotation movement. This one is going to be filled by the step through planks. Here you want to try and keep your upper torso still again while you create rotation from the bottom using your legs to step through and across your body. You will be able to feel this burn almost from the first few reps. Keep going until you reach the extinction time as described in the video. Move on next to the midrange movement known as the “X” man crunch. This is a great way to bring both the top to the bottom and the bottom to the top. Aim for completing the 12 reps that are suggested for extinction on this ab exercise and move onto the final three exercises. These will hit the obliques, top down movements and top down with rotation. You will see that this is not going to take very long. The benefit and power of this ab workout is that it is hitting the abs and obliques from every angle and in each of the 6 primary ways of hitting them.
