Some of the most well-known logos in the world were purposefully designed to indicate something much more than simple beauty. In fact, it seems that in some cases, every line, curve, and color has meaning behind it. Adidas, Apple, BMW, Coca-Cola, Toyota… We see these famous brands everywhere but never consider what their logos exactly mean. Curious to know the secret? Watch the 16 famous logos with a hidden meaning you've never noticed. #logomeaning #logosecret # Hyundai 0:33 The letter ’Н’ symbolizes two people – a client and a representative of the company – shaking hands. Adidas 0:52 The current logo is three stripes at an angle which together form a triangle. This symbolizes a mountain, which in turn represents the challenges that all sportsmen have to overcome day after day. Apple 1:21 Rob Janoff, the designer who came up with the world-famous Apple company logo, explained his idea in one of his interviews. He bought a bag of apples, placed them in a bowl, and spent time drawing them for a week, trying to break the image down into something simple. Vaio 1:58 The first two letters of the Vaio logo symbolize an analogue wave. The last two are similar to the numbers 1 and 0 — that is, symbols of a digital signal. From the vague social media snake oil salesmen to the radio hosts pretending to have all the listeners in the world, while they don’t have one percent of what they claim, it can be a dirty world. Main point. Vet, double check and look out for those that are claiming to get you out there. And a personal statement to one that has not fooled me, but who has taken way too many for a ride: To this out of touch Vero Beach, Florida local who for whatever reason still seems to have people fooled, has me completely baffled. His continued failures, his continued loses, his continued lies... are all continually catching up with him. Yet, this small circle of enablers allows him to continue to lie, to cheat, to deceive and to take advantage of people. The strangest part is that it's as if he has been lying for so long, to so many that he is actually starting to believe it to be true. Non of this is defamation of character either. Numbers don't lie, but the hype Rhett Palmer spills out on the air is loaded with them. I believe in karma and I believe in justice. Whether or not it makes me a bad person for saying it, I look forward to when both pay him a visit. And I can only hope that those advertisers and sponsors will look into things themselves. Inside anyone's personal brand communication, if it is not rooted in honor, authenticity, and reality, these days it will be discovered. it is just a matter of when. Rant End. So ask yourself, is someone marketing you without honor? By double checking, vetting, asking others and looking for real conversions, real truths and actual proof, the chance you will be taken will become that much less. http://www.JasminBalance.com/ask-jasmin Alright, so today's question is one that I happen to get all the time and doesn't necessarily come through my Ask Jasmin section, but people e-mail me and call me, and wanna talk to me about this, so this is my official video answering this question once and for all so I don't have to keep repeating it over and over :). So the question is, how did I build a thriving private practice? So, where to begin. I went to graduate school, and I got my license, and I became a therapist, and everything was wonderful, I did my extra hours, or all of my permit hours at a clinic and I got my license. And, then, I was ready to open my private practice, but then what? How do you do that? So, you do all this work to become a therapist and no one's teaching you how to be a business person. And so that was actually a really challenging realization for me. Just because I was a wonderful therapist, it didn't mean that people were gonna show up, and it didn't mean that I was gonna have a business. So, to be perfectly honest, I decided that I was going to become a business person. I recognized that no matter how wonderful of a therapist I am, that I'm the best kept secret if I'm not figuring out how to let people know that I'm around. So I really, really put a lot of time into learning about marketing, branding, I've taken classes, I go to workshops... It's really become the biggest focus of my business, to be quite honest. You know, being the therapist and being good at it is only one piece of the puzzle, but having people show up is really the basis of having a thriving practice. So, I found a class, like it was maybe a 4-week, 5-week class, at the Open Center New York. It was called "Building a Thriving Practice" by a guy named Robert Notter, which I recommend. You can Google him. I'm now signing up for Marie Forleo's B School. I got on the board of the Women's Success Summit here in Miami. So, I've just been really learning about this idea that marketing and branding is the key to building a business. And to be honest, I really hated it and don't quite love it yet, but I realized that the only way I was gonna be good at it was if I decided to choose to like it. One thing that I heard recently which I liked was this idea that, you know you're not selling something, you don't have to be pushy in all this stuff, to push your product. It's more about realizing that if you had the cure for cancer, it would be your responsibility to get that word out, right? You wouldn't think twice about doing everything you could to get that word out there: "I have the cure for cancer," you know, and really valuing who you are and what you're doing, understanding that that is something that people need, and that they want, and that you holding it to yourself and not putting yourself out there is really doing them a disservice. So that thought process has really been helpful for me in particular, just this concept of embracing marketing and branding, which is not my cup of tea necessarily. And really being genuine and authentic, and trust. You know there is a big faith component in trusting that if I stay true to who I am and what I'm doing, that I will attract what it is that I need. And, at the beginning when I didn't have so many clients and I felt a little needy to hold on to the ones that I had, a mantra that I took on was that I only want clients that are ready, willing and able. Kind of giving myself my power back that they're the ones who need me, I'm not the one who needs them, right? Yes, I need them on some monetary level, but the more that I have that as my primary focus, the more needy and desperate I am as a therapist, and who wants that, right? So it's really coming back to knowing your own value, knowing what you are capable of and making that clear to the World. So, marketing and branding, figuring out who your target audience is, all that stuff, I'm not gonna become a marketing/branding specialist so I'm not gonna give you all those details, but that really is the basis of all, it's becoming a business person. So, sorry to tell you that, that wasn't really what I wanted to hear when I was starting out, but it is really important. Alright, so hopefully, that is the answer that you weren't looking for, but would hopefully be helpful. Take care.
