Product realisation
Product realisation - bridging the gap between brilliant designs and real products. It starts the moment you understand what your client is looking for, the moment you start creating concepts. A client will typically spend much more on building the product than designing the product, so design for manufacture from an early stage will often pay-off fast. Hear first hand from our team how their experience and expertise enable us to take brilliant products to market - fast.

Products, Materials and Processes database
This database aims to engage students of both Engineering and Design in learning about materials, through a product-centered, visually inspiring, interactive database that provides information on how and from what products are made. The new database will help educators to use students' sense of curiosity to demonstrate the value of materials knowledge. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes are essential for any designer; whether they are designing the must-have consumer product or the latest high-tech component. Well-designed products provide both function and satisfaction. Materials and Processes play a key role in achieving both. This database introduces that role, encouraging exploration and self-education. http://www.grantadesign.com/education

Introduction to UofL's Institute for Product Realization (Short version)
The University of Louisville is creating a co-creation platform and microfactory facility to enable continuous innovative design and production with the advantage of quick iterative product generation and scale-up.
Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering
Design for Manufacturing: This practice focuses not only on the design of a new product, but also it's feasibility of production. Raw materials, forms, dimension tolerances and secondary processing (such as finishing) are also taken into account. http://www.focuspdm.com/services/design-manufacturing Facilitating the manufacturing phase is paramount to reducing expensive delays and redesigns. As a result, your prototype moves through final engineering, tooling and production in fewer iterations. Shorter lead times save you time and money. Focus offers tool geometry and other mechanical design services that are optimized to give you the best possible unit cost. their mechanical engineers will design products and create instructions for manufacturing parts by way of drafting or technical drawing, both computer-generated or hand-drawn. The detailed schematic contains necessary dimensions to manufacture that certain part. Along with technical drawings and assembly instructions they provide assembly notes, a required materials list, and other relevant information. Closed loop manufacturing - Closing the Value Chain
With Closed-Loop Manufacturing, Siemens supports the process of getting high-quality products to market on time. By leveraging effective cross-functional collaboration between product design, process planning and production execution, Siemens is able to break down communication barriers across a complex network of people, machines and systems. Too often design teams focus almost exclusively on meeting functional product requirements, only later considering the downstream aspects of product realization. This can lead to costly and unexpected adjustments as well as lengthy program schedule delays. Closed-Loop Manufacturing is built on a consistent digital data thread, enabling companies to know when and where a product can be manufactured exactly as ordered. A consistent feedback loop provides upstream teams with timely and relevant information that can be used to improve current and future versions of the product. The Teamcenter® portfolio, the Tecnomatix® portfolio and the Simatic IT manufacturing execution system (MES) are all involved in the Closed-Loop Manufacturing data model. http://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/mom/index.shtml

Integrated Product Design - Graduation project
The Integrated Product Design (IPD) Master’s programme focuses on teaching how to design user-centered innovative products and product service combinations, based on a balance between the interests of users, business and societal challenges. It covers the entire design process, starting from a design brief and ending with a complete product that is fit for mass or small series production. Thus the emphasis of the IPD master is on teaching conceptualisation and embodiment design, by applying systematic state-of-the-art theories and methodologies, and by integrating user, technology and business aspects. The identity of the IPD Master’s programme is determined by the coherent integration of all these aspects to come to a successful new product proposal; this makes the IPD Master’s programme challenging, exciting and unique. This movie illustrates what it is like to graduate within the master Integrated Product Design, by showing the projects of three (international) students. http://ipd.msc.tudelft.nl/

Verification vs Validation
Description: This webinar will focus on the difference between Verification vs Validation and how can we use them to improve the bottom line. If Verification &Validation are done right, the process and product should always conform unless there is an obvious equipment malfunction or human error. If Design Verification &Validation are done right and only conforming product is released, the customer should be completely satisfied and sales will be predictable. From Management’s POV, that’s not too much to expect for the time and investment allocated to it. However, reality is often much different. Validated processes fail for no obvious reason, causing back orders, loss of customer satisfaction and missed sales predictions. This talk will focus on the differences between these concepts and how to use the information gained to minimize future problems. Verification and validation activities account for a significant amount of time and resources in the final stages of new product development, and Management’s expectation is that this investment will eventually pay off in terms of product conformance and increased sales. This talk will shed light on the issues behind disappointing studies and how to overcome them. Participants should have some previous experience with verification and validation activities, but otherwise, this talk is applicable to all levels, especially management, as it covers underlying principles in a simplified format. Areas to be Covered: Important definitions and related terms What these terms have in common & how are they different Underlying issues that cause validated processes to fail Requirements for verification and validation and assuring accurate results Using verification and validation data to achieve process control Who will Benefit: This discussion will benefit any organization that performs V&V activities as part of new product development and/or wants to improve the control of their current processes. It should be of interest to QA and Manufacturing Managers QA and Manufacturing Engineers Supervisors Regulatory Affairs Research & Development Quality Auditors Documentation Department Anyone responsible for performing or reviewing verification and validation documents for full video please visit https://compliancetrainings.com/product/verification-vs-validation-2/
