Learn how to set up a YAMAHA WaveRunner for fishing. I run these WaveRunners out of Islamorada, The Fishing Capital of the World, in the sunny Florida Keys, about 90 miles from beautiful Key West. Nothing is better than Florida Keys for fishing. These WaveRunners provide great family entertainment, whether it’s at the Holiday Isle sandbar for a friendly party or offshore fishing for Tuna, Mahi-mahi, or Wahoo. It is difficult not to smile while cruising on these fishing machines.

Very nice but if it was me I would had put a Drop down Bowie on both sides four stability when in open water that you can drop and pull up it will keep you more stable something small in the same design like the ones on planes that land on water
Galvanized trailer are best for salt water. A Steel trailer, no-matter how much you rinse it, will rust after being dunked just once in salt water. In my experience, they will typically rust from the inside out. I have repainted my trailer once already and loaded it up with grease, but it continues to rust from the inside out. Thanks for watching and please keep me posted on your trip dates.
Correct me if I'm wrong or if it's different in Florida but Personal Water Craft are not allowed on the water before daybreak or after dusk. If it were as simple as adding navigation lights, everybody would be doing it.
I have to say I've never seen a ski tricked out like this. Just for safety sake see if you could flip it back upright in the crazy event that it does turnover. It seems like it might be more top heavy than usual. You could mount a livewell pump under the cooler so it would be submerged when your stopped and run a supply line to the cooler. Run a piece of soft copper pipe up the inside of the cooler connected to the drain valve for a return. Terminate the pipe at the height you want the cooler to fill too so the water can drain out at that height. I'm thinking there's still room for a foot control trolling motor on there somewhere. lol
I purchased the front arch just prior to them discontinuing them. Two rear arches should work for though. The only difference between the front and Back is a few inches of height on the up tubed. Thanks for watching and good luck with your build Wyatt.
HELLO, I PURCHASED A 2018 FX SVHO LIMITED. FISHMASTER NO LONGER CARRIES THE FRONT ARCH . DO YOU HAVE A MANUFACTURER NAME ON FRONT RACK SO I CAN CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY . FISHMASTER IS HORRIBLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH VERY UNHELPFUL.
Just after making this video, Fishmaster discontinued their front arch. You can have one custom made by a shop or you can purchase another rear arch from fishmaster and adapt it to the front of your WaveRunner. The only difference between the front and rear arch is the length of the up tube. Thanks for watching and good luck.
What is the bluish grease all over the bolts etc on the nozzle/steering linkage? I use my waverunner in salt water too and spray everything down with CRC 6-56 after, but should I be greasing some spots too? Thanks for the great video!!!
Hello Greight, the grease is OMC Triple Guard Grease and is very sticky. It outlasts the sprays and if applied a couple times a year, it will prevent salt water corrosion. Thanks for watching and your kind words.
Very professional job, on a side note even with lights PWC are not allowed to be operated at a time that would require lights. See Florida Statutes here is copied and pasted "Personal watercraft may not be operated from 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise, even if navigation lights are used. Remember, both federal and state law requires the use of navigation lights from sunset to sunrise."
Wow, I had no idea they made those kinds of accessories for PWC's. I knew folks fished from them but you're certainly taking it to a completely different level. The only question that was in my mind was the stability thing but you answered that one. It's way beyond anything I'd ever do but it looks very cool.
James Ireland James thats like saying if you fall off a roof you shouldn't have been up there. My point is all PWC's are designed to allow safe ingress and egress from the rear of the craft. My point is still 100% valid. Its against the safety design feature. Cheers
I hear ya Wade. You and I are nose to nose height wise but you've got me by about 35 lbs. Someone asked him if he could right the boat if it did flip over. All he did was advocate how stable the boat is with the implication that's it's very unlikely to flip over. That may be true but it doesn't mean it can't happen. As for the duck analogy, I think you're working off of some big "assumptions" here. As I said in my reply, I don't know any of this for fact. I've not been there personally but this guy obviously has some experience with the setup and in the absence of any proof to the contrary, I'm willing to take his word for the time being. I don't get the impression he went to all the trouble to put the video together to lie to us about it.
Having said that, at my weight, build, and age, I'd probably have a hard time crawling back on the boat from the side either way. You might too, I don't know, but I have friends who own the FX series Yamaha's. I've watched them get pretty crazy with them and at no point came close to rolling over. That's why I tend to not worry about that in this case. He's not going to be doing any of that with this setup and as long as you're prudent, it shouldn't be a problem.
That’s what I am saying. It doesn’t seem to me that a wet cell would be feasible to use because they require a vent for acid fumes to get out. It seams to me a sealed lead acid would be more practical for something that is going to get josseled around pretty good
An AGM replacement battery is the way to go on a Waverunner. Yamaha designers put the liquid acid batteries in their skis at the factory. It makes sense to use the liquid acid battery that came with the ski until you have $100 to burn on the AGM battery. For my FX SVHO and VX I use an AGM replacement battery that I purchased from my local Battery Wholesale store. It's a 325 CCA Deka ETX AGM Part # ETX16L . Its the Yamaha factory battery equivalent. The original factory battery was always low on fluid. The liquid acid was leaking from the battery vent tube down the outside of my jet ski and left permanent streaks in the paint. I assume this was happening because of my driving habits. I like to thrash around on the jet ski every now and then. The AGM doesn't use liquid, so no longer have issues with leaking and low battery fluid.
Wow... awesome piece of art!!! I am working on mine now... what is the brand of the hardware used on the end of the aluminum pipe? Thinking on making my own... thank you for sharing such a great video!!
